If you are not a QuarkXPress 9 customer who is using Mac OS X Lion, you can ignore this e-mail.
Last week, Apple released a maintenance update to Mac OS Lion. This update, 10.7.3, has resulted in issues with a number of software applications, including QuarkXPress 9, where it sometimes causes icons in the user interface to disappear.
We are currently working with Apple to resolve this issue. If Quark can resolve the issue directly, we expect to provide a free update to QuarkXPress 9 very soon.
In the meantime, we do not recommend that QuarkXPress 9 users running Mac OS X Lion update their system to 10.7.3. If you have already updated your system to 10.7.3, you can find information on workarounds for this issue at http://forums.quark.com/t/27664.aspx.
Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue. It is our highest priority, and our engineers have literally been working around the clock to find a permanent resolution.
Work around is:
"Go to preferences - Extension manager and select open on start. After restart quark the extension manager shows up. Click on ok and the icons are back."
