Still sporting the same applications (iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, iWeb and iDVD), iLife '11 made its debut today. This put to rest the rumor that Apple would drop iDVD from the package and replace it with a new application.
iPhoto has a new full-screen mode that immerses you in the application, using every inch of your display. New features include new sharing enhancements with Facebook, easy photo emailing, new books, and the ability to create custom letterpress cards.
The most fun new feature in iMovie has to be the ability to create movie trailers, including professional-looking titles, music, and quick storyboarding. There's also a brand-new audio editor that is by far both easy-to-use and powerful. And to help you create your work of art, iMovie '11 now has one-step effects, making it even easier to create instant replays, slow motion, flash and hold, and much more.
GarageBand has the expected new effects and new guitar amps to customize sound, but also new flex time and groove matching that can tighten up the rhythm and fix those mistakes that all multi-group bands make when laying down their songs. There are also new basic lessons for both piano and guitar.
